Corporate Finance and Accounting
Be part of the team responsible for accounting, reporting and financial analysis for all the Capital Group companies.
Mutual Fund Accounting
Perform accounting, reporting and financial analysis for the American Funds. This includes assisting with the calculation of daily mutual fund prices, regulatory and board reporting, and tax compliance. You also may work on ad hoc projects involving systems and other operational initiatives.
Global Institutional Group Accounting and Operations
Provide accounting, operations and analysis for our worldwide institutional clients.
Private Client Services Oversight
Perform accounting, operations, compliance and tax services for a select group of wealthy individuals, trusts, foundations and endowments nationwide. Oversee outsourced functions such as custody, reconciliation, statements, results and accounting systems.

How does working at the Capital Group differ from working for an accounting firm?
A core difference between corporate work and work at an accounting firm is the depth of knowledge you’ll gain. As a Capital Group associate, you’ll be exposed to a tremendous amount of information about our organization and our business. What makes a successful candidate for this type of position?
Common characteristics of successful Accounting associates include strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills, as well as leadership ability, initiative and flexibility.
Should a candidate have a specific major?
We typically look for candidates with a major or minor in Accounting, Corporate Finance, or any related field. We look for those with a minimum of three to four foundational Accounting courses.

What’s the career path for someone in Accounting and Finance?
There isn’t one distinct career path for anyone at the Capital Group. We’ll take into consideration your skills, strengths and interests. There are many different opportunities available, and associates are encouraged to discuss these with their managers.
Is my GPA important in your hiring decision?
We’ll consider your GPA when making a hiring decision, but we’re also looking for well-rounded students involved in a diverse group of activities on and off campus. We believe in a holistic approach to hiring and don’t overweight the importance of only one aspect of your experience.
What’s the salary range for entry-level positions?
We take into consideration the skills and experience a candidate brings to the position when determining a competitive salary.
Would I be able to transfer to different offices if I become a Capital Group associate?
Generally, associates are eligible to request a transfer to an appropriate position in a different location after one year in a particular role.
Training
Do you provide support for ongoing education?
We believe that the growth and development of our associates not only strengthen them personally, but also add tremendous value to our business. We’ll reimburse full-time and part-time associates for eligible expenses for approved educational programs that include pursuing an undergraduate degree, graduate degree, or a job-appropriate certificate program.
Can I get my CPA while working at the Capital Group?
Yes, the Capital Group reimburses for study courses and materials associated with pursuing a CPA under pathway II. In addition, the Capital Group allows associates to attend CPE eligible courses during work hours, as appropriate. CPA candidates will work under the supervision of an active CPA to obtain required hours.

How will I know that a job is filled?
Once a position has been filled, it’ll be removed from our website.
How long does the recruiting process take?
We give every candidate the opportunity to meet with our HR group, hiring manager and potential peers. The length of time a candidate is in the process can vary based on the number of people involved.
How long will the interview take?
A phone or on-campus interview is typically 30 minutes long, while an in-person interview can last anywhere from 45 minutes to one hour.
What’s the interview process like?
Through our campus recruiting efforts, students can expect an on-campus interview with an HR representative or a business manager. After the on-campus interview, selected students will have either a phone or on-site interview. The on-site interview will consist of several meetings with Human Resources associates, hiring managers and/or business managers.
When can I expect to hear from my recruiter?
After each interview, we share information with the key decision makers for the role, and it may take us a few days to do that. We’ll typically make a decision and contact you, regardless of the outcome, within five to 10 business days.
What’s your assessment process?
As part of the assessment process, we look for individuals who embody our core values. Education and/or experience also are assessed. After all the interviews are concluded, all members of the interview team discuss the candidates and determine the best person for the role.
Do you sponsor work visas?
Generally, we do not sponsor visas for candidates for our entry-level positions.
